I.T. has been deploying new printers and copiers that now grant staff the ability to easily install their own printer drivers, granting access to these printing devices. You can do so by following these 8 steps:
1. Click on the Windows 'Start' button and select 'Devices and Printers' from the right hand side of the Start menu,
2. Click on the 'Add a printer' option, located in the upper left of the 'Devices and Printers' window,
3. Select the bottom option titled 'Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer', this option will scan the network for any network shared printers. Please note that this may take a few minutes to populate a list of available printers,
4. Click to highlight the printer you wish to select and then click on the 'Next' button. You'll see a screen that comes up informing you that it is locating the print drivers and then installing them,
5. At this point you should see a window that reads 'You've successfully added ',
6. Click the 'Next' button,
7. ATTENTION, the resulting window will set the newly installed printer/copier to your 'default printer'. If you do not want this printer/copier to be your default network printer, just uncheck the 'default printer' check box and then click on the 'Finish Button'
8. All Done, you can now print to your desired printer/copier.
Please note that only certain network printers and copiers are currently configured in such a manner, that staff can grant themselves access via the steps described above. If you need access to a networked printer that does not show up in the list of printers (see step 4 above), please contact I.T. directly. We'll be happy to help.
